JDCC prints stories on people that have a Jewish born mother or went through an Orthodox conversion.

Like Kosher restaurants, it does not mean its kosher enough for every one. Each has their own standard of eating in these establishments or not. It could be because of Glatt or Cholov Yisroel or they are open on Shabbat, or many other reasons.

The Orthodox programs have similar criteria that in order to accept campers, their mother is Jewish through their Jewish born mother or went through an Orthodox conversion. We welcome anyone who wants to attend our events. Orthodox organizations do not consider him or her Jewish. The Orthodox position on interfaith marriage is that it is unacceptable, a violation of halacha. But by that same law, if the mother is Jewish, the child is Jewish regardless of upbringing; if the mother is not Jewish, the child is not Jewish.

JDCC has followed the policy of making sure the story is about someone who is Jewish. Often, we would have to make a mention that their father is Jewish which will identify who is a Jew in this story
