Ten-year-old from Bushey cuts long hair to raise money for North Finchley-based Jewish Deaf Association and Chai Cancer Care

A ten-year-old girl has given her waist-length hair the chop to raise money on behalf of her disabled younger brother.

Mia Sorkin snipped 17 inches from her brown locks to raise more than £1,100 for the North Finchley-based Jewish Deaf Association and Chai Cancer Care.

The primary school student decided to cut her hair for the two charities as both have helped her younger brother Kieran, seven, who was born profoundly deaf and without ears.
