The Los Angeles Deaf Teen Havurah was formed in December, 1993, by a group of eight deaf teens. The first activity was a Hanukkah party at the home of Brad Cohen. The Teen Havurah has as its major goal that of providing activities and get-togethers for Jewish deaf teens.
Sponsored in part by the National Congress of Jewish Deaf, the Teen Havurah has counselors who are students at California State University, Northridge.
Upcoming activities for the group include a Dodger baseball game and a trip to Magic Mountain. A weekend retreat is another idea being discussed and planned by the counselors.
Interested deaf teens who would like to be involved with the group should contact Brad Cohen at 818/346-2723 for more information.
