“Tazria” is the name of this week’s parsha video from Jewish Deaf Multimedia (JDMM). Among the topics discussed in the parsha is tzaaras.
A physical disease that came as result of a spiritual blemish caused by gossip, tzaaras was curable only by consulting two people – a knowledgeable Jew and a kohen. The latter would determine whether or not it was spiritually pure, and his decision was final.
Why – in the case of tzaaras – does the kohen have the final authority on the matter, even if he wasn’t as knowledgeable as the other Jew? This week’s parsha video will give you the answer.
