Paul Warhit informed JDCC that the American Jewish Historical Society (AJHS) is kicking off an exhibit on Machal/Aliyah Bet with a panel discussion and dinner/dessert reception on Wednesday, January 19th.
Machal is about North Americans who returned from serving in the Allied forces during WWII and volunteered to fight for Israel in its war of independence in 1948. Risking their U.S. citizenship, their livelihoods, and their lives, these Jewish champions played a vital role in securing our Jewish State and will be remembered throughout our history as true heroes.
