The Jewish Deaf Congress recently posted this information on Rabbi Fred Friedman who will be the Conference Rabbi:

 

 

ConfRabbiRabbi Fred Friedman
Rabbi Friedman is from Baltimore, Maryland. He was born in Vienna, Austria, as the son of Holocaust survivors. Rabbi Friedman graduated from the NJSD (New Jersey School for the Deaf) in 1964; from there, he attended Gallaudet University. In 1969, he graduated with a BA in Political Science. After 40 years of public service, he retired from the Library of Congress. Rabbi Friedman was ordained by the Ner Israel Rabbinical College in 1985. He is happily married to Connie and has 5 children and 14 grandchildren. Rabbi Fred Friedman has been involved with the NCJD and JDC for many years.

Constance attended the OSSD – Oregon State School for the Deaf – and graduated in 1965. She attended Gallaudet University from 1966-1970. Constance is a mother of 5 children and grandmother of 14 grandchildren. She has served as the secretary for the Baltimore Jewish Deaf Society for the past fifteen years. She is the current secretary of the JDC for the 2011-2013 term.
