Hillel at Gallaudet, Jewish Deaf Congress (JDC), Jewish Deaf Resource Center (JDRC), Washington Society of Jewish Deaf (WSJD) and Alternative Communication Services (ACS) sponsored a Virtual ASL Shabbat Service in memory of Steve Brenner on Friday, May 1, 2020.
Plan includes traditional candle lighting, prayers, sermon and discussion, all in American Sign Language. Voice interpreters and captioning are provided.
Followed by ASL Shabbat Oneg in same Zoom meeting room.
Sacha Klein provided technical assistance in operating the Zoom platform and Naomi Brunnlehrman and Ellen Schein for voice interpretation. Alternative Communication Services (ACS) sponsored captioning.
