At this time as I write this, I am ecstatic to report that we are breaking JDCC’s record for our Community Seder as we had over 200 early bird reservations and we still have over a month to go before the event takes place!!! I look forward to being with the larger Jewish Deaf Community to observe the Seder together as one!
The early bird may have expired HOWEVER it is NOT too late to make your reservations! Information is also on page 5. Don’t forget to mark your calendar to attend JDCC’s 9th annual Community Seder on Thursday, April 17th at 7 p.m.
Hadassah printed three deaf related articles in their November issue with Marlee Matlin appearing on the front cover, despite a numerous of errors and inconsistencies, they apologized on their behalf. I just finished reading “Hear, or Sign, O Israel,” the featured article in November 2002 issue of the Hadassh Magazine.

I was happy to find you article on a hero of mine – Legendary Hungarian Fencer, Ildiko Rejto. On www.jdcc.org/l 996/mar-apr/sports.htm you spell Ildiko’s name as Uslaki Rejto. It is actually Ujlaki.
I am also annoyed that you would say she is a Jew and a resident of Hungary. That is like saying our hopefully next President Lieberman is a Jew but just an American “resident.” I met Ildiko, and believe me she is a Hungarian that happens to be Jewish, as there are many other Hungarians who happen to be Unitarians, Catholics, and Buddhists… Thanks!

I am a Jewish genetic counseling student at Cal State Northridge. I am currently doing my thesis which is based on the genetic counseling experiences of Jewish Deaf individuals. There is very little literature on this topic and I feel it is very important for the medical community. If anyone would like to participate in my research it only requires the participant to fill out a questionnaire or they can participate in an interview.
