TALI DAGAN
Tali Dagan, dramatist extraordinare has always known she would be involved with drama. She fell in love with drama when she did a short skit at a camp. It was what you might call “love at first sight”. Knowing she was interested in drama, she pursued any acting openings at Deaf West theater in Los Angeles, California State University at Northridge (CSUN), and in San Diego.
Participating in drama ambiguously for the past five years, Tali has been involved in various productions including “Cinderella”, “His Wife”, “Aladdin”, “Alice in Wonderland”, “Grease”, “Napkins and a Pen”, and “Second Chance”. While she is unsure if she wants to pursue acting full time in the future as a career, especially due to the lack of deaf actors, she definitely wants to remain involved with acting as a hobby.
Tali, eighteen years old was born in Skokie, Illinois, but now resides in Calabasas, California. A senior at Granada Hills High School, she has already been accepted as a freshman student to California State University of Northridge for next year. As of now, she plans to major in Deaf studies with Human services or Theater. Besides acting, tali loves soccer, reading, camping, skiing, and star gazing.
As active as Tali is in theater, Tali is equally as active in the prominent Deaf Jewish community in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. She has attended Havorah Noar camp on weekends. This camp teaches Jewish teens about Judaism, Shabbat, other Jewish customs and traditions, along with meeting new Jewish people. Tali is a member of the Jewish Deaf Community Center (JDCC) and their Teen Havurah program, Jewish Community Center, and sometimes attends Temple Beth Solomon on special occasions. She states, “Judaism is very important to me because that is where my ancestors are linked to. I have Jewish parents and I fully accept Judaism for the wonderful religion it is.
