Tchia Kastor has launched a new matchmaking service for Deaf Jewish people. She explains: “Due to COVID, the Jewish Deaf Community members stayed at home and met new people on ZOOM. Of course, it doesn’t have the real feeling and raw emotions how one other feels about the other person through a video camera. They missed opportunities to meet new people in the flesh to find their lifetime partners.”
Kastor has a team of volunteers and explains further, “We want to ensure that all partners are Jewish through their mothers and their grandmothers (mother’s side) to have a Jewish identity. The purpose of this match making is to get married, have a family and raise in a Jewish household.”
JDCC News learned that another similar group, the “Jewish Deaf Singles Registry” by Samuel Landau had been closed for several years and that Landau will be working with Kastor and this new group.
The criteria: Born Jewish to Born Jewish Mother and Jewish Grandmother (mother’s side)
