Mitchell Siegel is a certified balloon artist recognized by Qualatrex Balloon Network, a trade organization for balloon designers in 1996. He was born in Bronx, New York and moved to Bayside when he was 6 years old. Graduated from Lexington School for the Deaf in 1980. Siegel received his A.A.S. degree in accounting from National Technical Institute of the Deaf and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Mitchell met his wife Dawn Miller at NTID in 1984. She converted to Judaism. They have two hearing children Bryan, 10 and Aliza, 8. They are attending Hebrew School and preparing for their bar/bat mitzvahs.

Balloon and Expressions by A & B. The initials come from their children Aliza and Bryan.
Where is it located?
In Boynton Beach, Florida in my home.
What got you interested in starting a balloon business?
We started creating for Heart mylar with the words “I Love You” in Sign Language. We contacted a Mexico Manufacturer by fax. A lady told me that she will be there at the Trade Show in North Carolina so we drove to North Carolina. We saw Balloon decor and Balloon business booths. We met with the lady about an artwork. We walked thru all booths. We sold Heart mylar “ILY” Sign Language to Schools and Business. My wife want to do with balloon decor for parties. I said NO. We worked on ILY balloons business only but it was unsuccessful. I decided to change new business. We loved our business. It was great successful.
When did you start it up?
We started it up on September, 1995.
How did you fund it?
We took out of pocket and had no income for two years because of expenses for balloon materials, equipments, seminars, storage and etc.
Why did you dream of starting a balloon company?
It is a way to use our creative ability.
What does the company specialize in?
Our business features Balloon/Special Events decor for bar/bat mitzvahs and corporate events. We do with balloon exploding, balloon drops, props, signage with lighting, lighting centerpieces, custom centerpieces, balloon walls, logos, arches, columns, placecard decor, dance floor decor, sculptures, special effects, etc.
What is the goal of the company? Future goals?
To grow larger every year and to grow enough to be a full time business..
How many employees do you have?
Dawn and Mitchell work full time balloon decorations but 3-5 people part time workers.
What have you created with balloons?
8 foot menorah, 7 foot tall sculpture of Merlin the Magi cian, 9 foot high, 24 foot long dinosaur, 5 foot high tropical fish and many others.
