Their announcement says they are sharing the fruit of their labours – a translation of the Ruth Scroll to the Israeli sign language. “We are proud and very excited that you will also be able to enjoy Ruth’s life story, especially in our language!”
Episodes of the “Ruth Scroll” are streaming on the Chushim Ben Dan website and also Chushim Ben Dan page on Facebook. Website explains the organization’s name is Hushim Association which “works for the development and strengthening of Jewish identity among deaf and hard of hearing people, and for building a strong and proud community with its Jewish roots.”
Website indicates it is located in Rishon Leziyon, Israel led by Rabbi Yehoshua Soudakoff, “one of the only four deaf rabbis in the world” with all activities in sign language. “Every deaf Jew deserves to have his or her Jewish heritage transmitted in his or her native language – in this case, the sign language”.
