Dr. Barbara Ella Boyd, 67, passed away on Valentine’s Day, collapsing while moving from her apartment. Barbara was a Professor of English at California State University, Northridge for more than 30 years, a job she truly loved, only just retiring last December 2010. She was a native of Birchwood, Tennessee, born to parents Hubert and Mistie Hixson Boyd, both of blessed memory.
