Rabbi Yehoshua Soudakoff with The Deaf Jewish Foundation has announced that they are hosting four Chanukah Celebrations this year.
With sponsorship from Purple Communications, JDF will hold celebrations in Rochester, NY; Washington, DC; New York City and Los Angeles, CA.
Fred Weiner, Irina M. Normatov, Jackie Roth and Shanna Grossinger will be master of ceremonies and guests of honor include Bernard Bragg, Howard Rosenblum and Rabbi Fred Friedman.
A colorful nine-foot high “De’VIA Menorah” will be ceremonially list.
Entertainment will be provided by John Maucere (as “SuperDeaf”) in Los Angeles and New York City.
Hinda Kasher will display her artwork on an emerging art genre called “JeDe’VIA (Jewish Deaf View and Image Art)” in Los Angeles.
