Martin Belsky, 76

Of Burton, Michigan, a well-known member of the Deaf community died of an aggressive brain tumor in Sunrise Florida. He was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1937 to Fannie and Morris Belsky. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Marilyn, his two daughters Marta (BC) Belsky and Marianne Belsky. He is also survived by his sisters Irene Bess and Barbara (Ben) Rabin. He was predeceased by two sisters Audrey Sens and Janet Belsky. Marty was a 1955 graduate of New York School for the Deaf (Fanwood), a 1959 graduate of Gallaudet University and a 1964 graduate of Eastern Michigan University. He spent his career as a teacher, principal, and coach at the Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint. He served as the Secretary and President of the Central Athletic Association of the Deaf and as the Secretary and President of the American Athletic Association for the Deaf. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the CAAD and AAAD. He was also inducted into the Fanwood Hall of Fame.
Marty was an avid tennis player who enjoyed playing tennis at the Flint Tennis Club during the summers and at the Sunrise Lakes Tennis Club during the winters. Marty was an animal lover. He enjoyed walking, reading, watching movies on DVD and playing and watching sports especially basketball and tennis. He was a long time member of the Flint Association of the Deaf and Senior Citizens.
Memorial services will be planned at a later date in Flint and in South Florida. Memorial contributions may be made to: The Michigan School for the Deaf Athletic Fund, The Humane Society of Genesee County, or the Gallaudet University Alumni Association. Leon Kraft, 84

Of Chelsea, Malden, & Wilmington, surrounded by family and friends. He was a devoted husband of 47 years to his late wife Elinor, a loving father to his daughter Bonnie, and wonderful brother to Frances Pearlman, Saul Kraft and the late Sumner Kraft, he was a beloved brother in law to May Kraft, Michael & Paula Olejarz of VA and Bernard & Marilyn Castaline of CA, as well as a proud uncle and great uncle to several nieces and nephews. A graduate of the Horace Mann School for the Deaf, Class of 1944, he had many friends in the deaf community where he was most at home. Other than his family and friends, a good Red Sox game, hot cup of black coffee, and a cigar were his greatest joy. Services at the Goldman Funeral Chapel 174 Ferry St, MALDEN on Sunday, April 28 at 12 Noon. Visiting prior to the service from 11 to 11:45AM. Interment in Woburn. Following the interment only, condolence calls may be made in the Community Room at Crown Pointe in Swampscott.
