Congregation Bene Shalom is the first synagogue for the deaf and hearing-impaired in the United States, founded 47 years ago. A pioneering institution, Bene Shalom offers traditional and Kabbalistic services as well as healing prayer. We serve hundreds of Jews of all different hearing abilities in the Chicago area – and we need your help!

Not having fully recovered from the recession, and with Jewish communal funds stretched thin, we find ourselves in need of financial aid so that we can keep our doors open. We need funds to help cover:
• Vital services for our congregants: interpreters, a signing choir, education, books and materials, programming
• Outreach: a free food pantry for our community
• Basic necessities: electricity, heating and air conditioning, and insurance

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Every dollar donated helps support Bene Shalom’s inclusive environment, which enables all to experience God and understand Jewish heritage. Please visit our GoFundMe page (www.gofundme.com/f/support-co…), and thank you so much for your generosity! (Source: YouTube: Laura Schwartz)
