The Jewish New Year also known as Rosh Hashana is welcomed with the sounds of the Shofar. By blowing into this curved, hollow horn of a ram or another animal, different notes can be produced. Popular sounds are called Tekiah, Shevarim, Teruah and Tekiah.
Supplies:
1 10 inch square paper
Instructions:
- Fold the paper on the diagonal
- Fold two outer edges to the diagonal crease
- Fold the narrow top corner and bring the long edges to the middle
- Fold the bottom comer up
- Make three narrow pleats about one inch apart, on the wide part of the paper. First crease the paper up; then crease the paper down about 114 inch away
- Carefully fold the paper in half
- Curve the shofar; stretch each pleat at the double edge only, leaving the top of the paper pleated.
