A COUNCILLOR showed his support towards a North Finchley community centre for people with hearing loss last week.

Councillor Brian Schama attended the Jewish Deaf Association (JDA) in Woodside Park Road to find out about its services with a view to helping raise its profile.

The Mill Hill ward councillor said Barnet Council has pledged to do its best to protect important services in the borough and the needs of the most vulnerable people in the community.

JDA celebrates its 60th anniversary this year and provides a range of services including tinnitus self-help groups, computer training courses conducted in sign language and counselling on hearing related issues.
