Michael Stein, a deaf attorney, has partnered with Mary Vargas in a new public interest law firm, Stein & Vargas, LLP which specializes in disability rights litigation and works with local attorneys to litigate cases across the country.
Michael Stein graduated from Princeton in 2003 and from Harvard Law School in 2006. He was a Skadden Fellow for two years with the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), where he litigated cases on the behalf of people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Stein, who uses sign language and is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, resides in the Washington, DC area. His partner, Mary Vargas was also a former NAD attorney and is admitted to practice law in Maryland and Connecticut. “We are able to practice in other states when working with local attorneys admitted to practice in those states”, Stein says.
