Washington Society of Jewish Deaf (WSJD) is looking for participants!
From WSJD:
Join WSJD in creating a highly interactive, participatory, and spiritually uplifting family friendly ASL High Holy Day services scheduled for Monday, September 10 and Wednesday, September 19! Roles open to adults, children, teens, and college students.
- Sign a blessing, prayer, story, or a poetry
- Be part of a signing chorus – create ruach (spirit)!
- Participate in an unspoken honor (opening and closing of ark, dressing and undressing the Torah)
- Blow shofar or beat drum to create vibrations to awaken our spirits to a time of reflection
The Hillel at Gallaudet students will be planning and leading the Erev Rosh Hashanah service, open to all, at Ole Jim, at Gallaudet University on Sunday, September 9.
