Hi Readers!

Have you visited JDCC’s website lately? Back issues of JDCC News since its inception in 1992 is now available on our website, thanks to Richard Dawes who is our webmaster.

JDCC has its own office space at my residence at last! The phone numbers and small addresses remain the same. We will need to raise money to hire a qualified person to to run the office as JDCC has become swamped with different projects. We are designing a new brochure on JDCC which will help our fundraising efforts.

We are also looking for someone interested in making some extra money by selling advertising space in JDCC News and earning commissions! Contact us for more details.

We plan to add a new feature on Kosher Cooking Recipes in the next issue as well as an Art and Crafts column! If you have any recipes or samples of art work, please share it with us and send the information along with photos to JDCC News today!

I am Orthodox and planning to go to either Gallaudet or Columbia University next year for a masters in Deaf Education. I would love to hear about opportunities to work with Jewish deaf in either the Greater Washington D.C. area and Baltimore or in New York City. I just found this website and I think it will be very resourceful. One of my reasons for going into Deaf Education is to help improve the education for deaf Jews. Please contact me if you have any information. Thanks!! Lisa

I was simply thrilled as I came upon this site! I have been in search of information on (Orthodox or not) Hebrew and Greek sites relating to deaf and hard of hearing. I am an interpreter, I also raised Orthodox Greek, although feel a GREAT NEED to look further in Judaism, I have many questions. I so, want to learn Hebrew, so that I may sign for the Deaf and H.H. in the Jewish community in or near Wichita, Kansas. If anyone can assist me, so I may confine serving those in need, PLEASE contact me. I am listed…Goddard, ks. again, thank you for this site.

I am a deaf education major at CSU, Fresno in CA. I am also Jewish. I think it is wonderful that there is a place for deaf culture to thrive along with the beauty of Judiasm. I think you are great JDCC!

This site is very interesting. I am a MA student at the University of Fayettville, AR. Our studies are at the Research Training Center/Deafness and Hard of Hearing Program in Little Rock. We are to report on an oppressed Deaf group. I have been reading your articles on the Holocaust. Can you tell me if the Jewish Deaf community is still oppressed group in 1999? If so, how? Can you provide me with some articles or information concerning this? Thank you for your time.
