Dear Sharon Dror,

Hello, my name is Dena Schechter. I got your name and address from Rabbi Rebecca Dubowe. I'm an interpreter for the deaf in the public schools, and in a Havorah group. I'm writing to you because every month our Havorah has a discussion about something Jewish and I thought it would be interesting to find information about the laws and roles etc. including, or excluding deaf people as well as people who are blind, or have disabilities. Unfortunately all I can find is the well known statement saying "do not put a stumbling block before the blind" etc. I am actually looking for Torah or other significant quotes. I know that with advancement of education and knowledge of all different peoples this can't be the only thought today. Rabbi Dubowe suggested writing to you. I hope you will be able to guide me in the right direction. Thank you.
