Marjorie "Marge" Klugman, 90, August 6, 2015Marjorie "Marge" Klugman, 90, died on August 6, 2015 in Vista, California. Marge was born in 1925 in Brooklyn, New York. She lost her hearing and sight in one eye at age 16. After graduating high school, she moved to Los Angeles where she met and married Alvin Klugman, to whom she was married for 57 years until his death in 2006. Together, she and Alvin were leaders in the Los Angeles deaf community and helped found Temple Beth Solomon of the Deaf in 1960. Later, as a volunteer, she helped establish the Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness (GLAD). She went on to be employed by GLAD for 18 years as an information specialist, where she served as editor of the GLAD News, gathering information, giving referrals, and promoting GLAD within the community. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Cronin, son-in-law John Cronin, grandsons Paul and Bryan Cronin, and extended family.
