Problematic with Moshe Kasher - Moshe's Mom Talks Growing Up Deaf

Problematic with Moshe Kasher - Moshe's Mom Talks Growing Up Deaf

Moshe Kasher, a stand-up comedian, writer and actor in Los Angeles, CA has a new talk show series, "Problematic with Moshe Kashar" which debuted on Comedy Central on April 18th.

Moshe, who also worked as a sign language interpreter, has deaf parents. His father, Steven became a Hasidic Jew in Brooklyn. His brother is a rabbi.

Each episode will focus on one "problematic" theme. In an interview with The Daily Best, Moshe says "“The worry with a topic like that is that it’s so fraught with people’s ideological baggage that you won’t be able to make it funny,” Kasher tells me by phone the day before the show’s April 18th premiere, “but so far that’s been the fun of the show.”

At the end of the first episode, Kashar sat down for a conversation with his mother in sign language about her experiences. Moshe's mom explains what it felt like to be shut out from society as a young deaf woman.

Problematic with Moshe Kasher airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on Comedy Central.
