The Boy at the Top of the Mountain by John Boyne

The Boy at the Top of the Mountain by John Boyne

LOCOTEENBOOKREVIEW

The boy at the top of the Mountain is about Pierrot Fischer, a seven-year-old boy living in 1930’s Paris. When his mother dies, he has to bid goodbye to his best friend, Anshel, a deaf Jewish boy living next door, and move to an orphanage. After some time at the orphanage, his Aunt Beatrix, a housekeeper in Berghof, asks him to come and live her. Soon his name is changed and his friendship with Anshel is forbidden.

As someone who completely devoured John Boyne’s The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, I can say that this book is just as similar and fascinating. I would rate this book a five out of five stars.
