OGDEN -- The memory of 6 million men, women and children killed during the Holocaust received special honor last weekend when members of Ogden's Jewish Congregation Brith Sholem used a Torah scroll that survived the devastation for their Yom HaShoah memorial service.


Disabled Deserve Full Share In Jewish Life

In February, Yachad/the National Jewish Council for Disabilities, an agency of the Orthodox Union, presented NAIM -- North American Inclusion Month - as a national initiative to develop sensitivity and knowledge of what it means to live with disabilities and to educate communities on how they can do their part to make sure all Jews are properly included in all aspects of Jewish life.

How does one measure the achievements of such a mission? Is it even quantifiable? In addition to evaluation tools that can be helpful in identifying specific areas of accomplishment and where work needs to be done, one can gauge the mission's success by the overwhelming response to it.


Student-Teacher At School For Deaf Arrested On Sex Charges

A student teacher at the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford was arrested in upstate New York Tuesday after allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl, New York State Police said.

Micah S. Brown, 30, was charged with two counts of attempting to disseminate indecent materials to a child. His bail was set at $1 million.
