Rose Parade - A Success

A big congratulations goes to the volunteers who did an excellent job working on the Eastman Kodak Company float for the 106th Toumament of Roses. Barbara Boyd was the advisor. The Teens Havurah, Jeremy Balkan, Rebecca Schoor, Michelle Silvers, Jake Weiss, and CSUN Jewish Deaf students, Melanie Chaplick, Lauren Abbott and Eric Posner all participated as well as volunteers, Mark Friedman, Muriel 8 David Freedman joined over 150 other volunteers. They won the Directors' Trophy! This award was judged on the outstanding artistic merit in design and floral presentation. It was a beautiful "Photo Safari". We are proud of these people!

You may note that it was on Monday, January 2nd, not on the first on Sunday this year. The officials initiated the "Never on Sunday" policy in 1893 fearing that the parade would frighten horses tethered outside local churches and subsequently, disturb worship services!
