TEEN HAVURAH
We are real proud of two teens that participated in the Jewish Community Center Maccabi Youth Games last August in the Los Angeles area.
Matt Simmons is a sophomore student at Burbank High School and Tali Dagan, also in her sophomore year at Granada Hills High School. They both had the honor of signing the Star Spangled Banner during the opening ceremonies.

Matt swam in the 200-yard breast stroke and won a bronze medal. He was also part of the gold-medal winning 400-yard medley relay team.
Tali scored the first goal in the L.A. Red’s Bronze medal soccer victory over New Jersey, 4-1.
During the last game, she scored a goal, a girl from the other team collided with her. Tali suffered a broken leg in two places and required surgery to have a pin put in. She had to have a cast for two months. She keeps herself busy rehearsing for the Christmas Carol play at Deaf West since she can’t play soccer!
They were both very proud to be selected to participate in this games. And JDCC Teens Havurah is very proud of these two athletes. Mazel Tov!
